Chord Hero Hosts Maker Ukulele Workshops at Hong Kong Polytechnic University Music Division

Chord Hero conducted a series of hands-on Maker Ukulele Set workshops for students taking music electives at Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 11 and 12 March 2025.
Working in groups of three to four, students assembled their own ukuleles from the ground up, naturally taking on responsibilities as the assembly progressed. The hands-on structure encouraged communication and gave students ownership over both the process and the outcome.
The workshops are designed to use music as a vehicle for self-expression. Once assembly is complete, students personalise their instruments with their own artwork before submitting the finished ukulele as a course assignment.
Looking back at submissions from last year's cohort, the decorated ukuleles demonstrated a strong range of artistic expression — a testament to what students bring to the experience when given the creative freedom to make it their own. Chord Hero looks forward to seeing this year's work when submissions come in.
